Full & Partial Dentures
Tooth loss in adults is a dental problem with serious consequences.
Obviously, tooth loss dramatically affects your appearance, but missing teeth can make it more difficult to eat, chew, and speak. When teeth are missing, there is also an increased likelihood that surrounding teeth will start to shift out of position and compromise the structure of the mouth.
Today, patients with missing teeth have more treatment options than ever, so there's no reason for you to deal with any of these problems. Full and partial dentures have always been a good choice for tooth replacement because they work for just about everyone.
Deciding Whether Dentures Are Right for You
Choosing dentures is a big step and requires some serious thought. We offer several methods for replacing teeth, so before you choose which treatment is best for you, we can help you weigh the pros and cons of each. This allows you to make a decision that’s most appropriate for you and your unique needs and desires.
At the office of Andrew R. Jung, DDS, we offer patients both full and partial traditional dentures.
Traditional full dentures sit on the gums and are removable. The upper denture is secured by suction, and the lower denture is held in by gravity.
Partial dentures include replacement teeth attached to an acrylic (plastic) base, with either comfortable acrylic or metal clasps. Partials are designed to fit in and around remaining natural teeth.
Are you worried that dentures will look fake? It's an understandable concern, but Dr. Jung designs full and partial dentures that will enhance your appearance and make you want to smile again. Using state-of-the-art materials, your dentures are carefully crafted to complement your features, including your skin tone and your eye and hair color.
This careful attention to detail produces a final result that looks as close to your natural teeth as possible.
Modern dentures are a major improvement over dentures made decades ago. It's our goal to create dentures with a fit that's as secure and comfortable as possible. However, we understand that removable dentures may not provide the stability you are looking for.
We are pleased to offer dental implants for Long Beach denture wearers who are looking for a permanent solution. Implant-supported dentures offer an answer to many of the problems associated with removable dentures.
Dr. Jung attaches your dentures to dental implants that have been surgically implanted into your jawbone. Over time, the implants fuse with surrounding bone and tissue in the jaw and create a solid and stable foundation for the denture. When dentures are secured this way with dental implants, you won't have to worry about them sliding and moving at the most awkward moments.
